Given,

Base i)= 1 m

Base ii)= 1.2 m

Perpendicular distance or height= 0.8 m

So,

Area of trapezium =[ {(base i)+(base ii)} / 2] *height

                              =[{(1 m)+(1.2)}/2]*0.8

                              =[(2.2)/2]*0.8

                              =1.1*0.8

                              =0.88 sq. metre

Question :-

The shape of the top surface of a table is a trapezium. Find its area if its parallel sides are 1 m and 1.2 m and perpendicular distance between them is 0.8 m.

Given :-

  • Shape of table = Trapezium

  • Length of parallel sides = 1m and 1.2m

  • Perpendicular distance = 0.8m

To find :-

  • Area of trapezium?

Formula used :-

  •  \dfrac{1}{2}  \times (a + b) \times h

Solution :-

  •  \dfrac{1}{2}  \times (1 + 1.2) \times 0.8

  •  \dfrac{1}{2}  \times (2.22) \times 0.8

  • 0.88 {cm}^{2}

Hence , the required area

⠀⠀ =  {0.88cm}^{2}
