Question :-

The shape of the top surface of a table is a trapezium. Find its area if its parallel sides are 1 m and 1.2m and perpendicular distance between them is 0.8 m ?

Given :-

  • shape of top surface is trapezium.

  • Length of parallel sides = 1m and 1.2m

  • perpendicular distance between them = 0.8m

To find :-

  • Find the area of trapezium ?

Formula used :-

 =\:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \dfrac{1}{2}  \times (a + b) \times h

Solution :-

 =  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \dfrac{1}{2}  \times (1.2 + 1) \times 0.8

 =  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \dfrac{1}{2}  \times 2.2 \times 0.8

 =   \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: 0.88 {m}^{2}

Hence, the required area = 0.88 {m}^{2}
