Step-by-step explanation:

Area of trapezium=21× sum of parallel sides× perpendicular distance

Parallel sides= 1 and 1.2m

Perpendicular distance=0.8m

So,

Area=21×(1+1.2)×0.8

          =1.1×0.8

          =0.88m2

Given question ::-

The shape of the top surface of a table is a trapezium. Find its area if its parallel sides are 1 m and 1.2 m and perpendicular distance between them is 0.8 m ?

Given ::-

  • Shape of surface is trapezium.

  • Parallel sides are 1 and 1.2 m

  • Height of trapezium is 0.8m

To find ::-

  • Find the area of trapezium ?

Formula used ::-

• Area = \dfrac{1}{2} × sum of ll sides × height

Solution ::-

• Parallel sides = 1 and 1.2m

• Height = 0.8m

Area of trapezium

= \dfrac{1}{2} × (1 + 1.2) × 0.8

= \dfrac{1}{2} × 2.2 × 0.8

= 0.88 {m}^{2}

__________

Hence, Area of trapezium = 0.88 {m}^{2}
