Question ::-

The shape of the top surface of a table is a trapezium. Find its area if its parallel sides are 1 m and 1.2 m and perpendicular distance between them is 0.8 m.

Given ::-

  • The shape of top surface is trapezium.

  • Parallel sides are 1m and 1.2 m

  • Height of trapezium is 0.8m

To find ::-

  • Find the area of trapezium ?

Solution ::-

• length of parallel sides = 1 and 1.2m

• Height = 0.8 m

________

Area of trapezium

= \dfrac{1}{2} × ( sum of ll sides ) × height

= \dfrac{1}{2} × ( a + b ) × h

= \dfrac{1}{2} × ( 1 + 1.2 ) × 0.8

= \dfrac{1}{2} × 2.2 × 0.8

= 0.88 {m}^{2}

__________

Hence, area of trapezium is 0.88 {m}^{2}
