the sharp side of a knife cuts more easily than. the blunt side because area and pressure are inversely proportional , as area decreases , pressure increases.

We know P = F/A, where F is the force applied, P is the pressure acting on a body and A is the surface area of the body.
Now if F is constant then P and A are inversely related, i.e. if A increases P decreases and vice versa.
A sharp side of a knife has less surface area than the blunt side. Therefore the sharp side of a knife cuts more easily than the blunt side.
