England was in its developing face at that time and due to development the demand for Timber was high. Apart from building Industries the ship industry too needed Timber and iron for the manufacturing of ships due to which the forest in England were declining and the need for Timber couldn't be fulfilled.

To fulfill the demands for Timber England face towards India and started cutting down the Indian forests. The demand of timber was high which led the English ship industry to deforestation of Indian forests.
