Step-by-step explanation:

The short hand is the hour hand in the clock and it completes one revolution in 12 hour.

∴In 12 hour it covers the distance = 2πr = 2×π×4 = 8π cm.

∴ In 2 days i.e. 48 hours it traveled = 4*8π = 32π cm. [∵48/12 = 4]

The long hand is the minute hand in the clock and it completes one revolution in 1 hour.

∴In 1 hour it covers the distance = 2πr = 2×π×6 = 12π cm.

∴In 2 days i.e. 48 hours it traveled = 48*12π = 576π cm

∴ The Sum of distance traveled by their tip = (32π + 576π) = 608π cm.

Now putting the value of π = \frac{22}{7}

608\pi cm =\frac{608*22}{7}\\  =1910.857\\ =1910.86 cm

∴ The Sum of distance traveled by their tip =1910.86 cm
