Radius of the shorter hand=4 cm
Distance covered in 1 hour is the circumference of the circle
Circumference of the circle= 2*π*r
=2*22/7*4=25.14 cm approx
=25.14*48=1206.72 cm
Radius of the longer hand =6cm
Circumference of the circle=2*π*r
=2*22/7*6=37.71 cm approx
=37.71*48=1810.08cm
Total distance= 1206.72+1810.08=3016.80 cm
