Gandhi jayanti on October 2nd is the birth anniversary of Mohandas karamchand Gandhi, who is a pioneer of truth and non-violence. He is known as the father of nation. Gandhi is a "national holiday" celebrated all over India as a tribute to him. It is also declared as the "international day of non-violence" by the "united nationals General assembly" on 15th June 2007.
