Keshav and his friends were bored stiff. The schools had all closed down due to the upcoming
elections and staying indoors meant getting scolded by the elders for getting on their way.
Keshav had an idea, why not explore the sal woods near their school. From their school windows
they had often sighted the sombre looking sal trees. It would be great to see what the woods
were like.
Informing his parents that he was going to his friend Parth's house Keshav slipped away. So did
the five other boys of his group.
It was the time of Spring so the woods were full of shedded leaves. The boys trod noisily on the
crumpled deciduous trees. The forest was quiet and eerie. All they could hear were their own
footsteps and the chirping of the wild birds.
Suddenly Abhimanyu yelled loudly. He had stumbled upon something and fallen. As the rest of
the gang gathered to help Abhi they were all awestruck! Filled with horror, they could hardly
believe their eyes.
In front of them was a decomposed, maggot ridden human body. They immediately fled from
there. Poor Abhi had to limp all the way. When they reached the main road they found a Police

Patrol car parked on one side. They rushed to it and reported what they had sighted to the
officers.
Immediately the police took the boys and went to the woods. The boys took them to the body
which the police identified as the billionaire who had been abducted a few days ago.
With a heavy heart but a hidden pride the boys returned home. What a day it had been ! None of
them would ever forget it
