The si unit of surface tention is N m^-1.

Surface tension is nothing but force per unit length.

So, surface tension = (Force) ÷ (Length)

The SI unit of Force is Newton (N) and SI unit of Length is Meter (m).

∴ SI unit of surface tension = (N) ÷ (m) = N m^-1.
