a) Given,

AB=8 cm

BC=6 cm

Area of right angled triangle= base x height

=(6 x 8) cm

=48 cm

b) By Pythagoras Theorem,

(AC)²=(AB)²+(BC)²

AC²=(8)²+(6)²

AC²=64+36

AC²=100

AC=√100

AC=10 cm
