Using this formula,

$\sf \implies \dfrac{x^2}{y^2}= \dfrac{2^2}{3^2}$

$\sf \implies \dfrac{x^2}{y^2}= \dfrac{4}{9}$

Hence, the ratio of their squares is $\bf 4 : 9$
