the side of a certain triangle are given below
(i) 16cm , 20cm , 12cm
(ii) 6m , 9m , 13m
find which of them is right a triangle

In a right triangle,as per pythagoras theorem, base^2 +altitude ^2 =hypotenuse square

let us check which is a right triangle.

i)16^2+12^=256+144=400(hypotenuse^2)

hypotenuse=

 \sqrt{400}  = 20

the sides given is the sides of a right triangle

ii)6^2+9^2=36+81=117(hypotenuse square)

hypotenuse=root 117 not equal to 13

therefore,16,12,20 are sides of a right triangle
