Step-by-step explanation:

When edges are doubled, volume increases 8 times while TSA increases 4 times. When trebled, V increases 27 times while TSA increases 18 times. When halved, V decreases by one-eighth times while TSA decreases by one- fourth times.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's take the side of the cube be x.

Then , Lateral Surface Area (LSA) of cube= 4x^2=L   ----------(1)

Total Surface Area(TSA) of cube=6x^2=T  -----------(2)

Volume of the cube= x^3=V -----------(3)

If the side of the cube is doubled ,then,

New side of the cube= 2x

New Lateral Surface Area(LSA)= 4 (2x)^2

                                                   = 4*4x^2

                                                   = 4L   [ by 1}

New Total Surface Area(TSA) = 6 (2x)^2

                                                  = 4*(6x)^2

                                                  = 4T    [ by 2 ]

New Volume = (2x)^3

                       = 8x^3

                         = 8V    [by 3]

Therefore , if the side of the cube is doubled, then its TSA ,LSA and Volume will become 4,4 and 8 times its initial values respectively.
