Solution

Length of the rectangle is 10 cm

Given

  • The ratio of its sides is 2:3

  • Area of the Rectangle = 150 cm²

Let x be the common multiple of their sides .

  • Length would be 2x
  • Breadth would be 3x

To fInD

Length of the Rectangle

\boxed{\boxed{\sf Area \ Of \ Rectangle = l \times b }}

 \longrightarrow \:  \sf \: (2x)(3x) = 150 \\  \\  \longrightarrow \:  \sf \: 6 {x}^{2}  = 150 \\  \\  \longrightarrow \:  \sf \:  {x}^{2}  = 25 \\  \\  \longrightarrow \:  \sf \: x =  \pm \:  \sqrt{25}  \\  \\  \longrightarrow \:  \boxed{ \boxed{ \sf \: x = 5 \: cm}}

  • Length would be : 2(5) = 10 cm

  • Breadth would be : 3(5) = 15 cm
