The side of a rhombus is 13 cm and one of its diagonals is 24 cm. Find the length of the other diagonal and its area.

half the diagonal is 12
therefore as it forms a right angled triangle
13² =12² +(1/2 * other diagonal)²
other diagonal  * 1/2= √169 - 144
⇒                    =√25 = 5
therefore other diagonal = 10 cm
therefore area = 1/2 * 24 * 10 = 120cm²
