Answer:

Side of square = 1 hm = 10000 cm

Area of square = a²

10000 x 10000 = 100000000 cm²

Area of square = 100000000 cm²

Length of rectangle = 20 m = 2000 cm

Breadth of rectangle = 10 cm

Area of rectangle = L x B

2000 x 10 = 20000 cm²

No. of rectangular plots cuts from square =

5000 plots can cuts from this square

area of rectangular plot = 25 m * 8 m = 200 sqm

side of square farm = 1 hectometer = 100 m

area of rectangular farm = 100 m x 100 m

= 10000 sqm

No. of plot = 10000/200 = 50 plots

This is theoretical answer assuming that we would be able to carve out plots of given dimension in the farm

But practically, we see that the side of farm (100 m) is divisible by one side of the plot (25 m) but not by the other side (8 m)

So, we would be able to fit 4 plot with 25 m side along the farm so that 25*4 = 100 m, but only 12 such plots can be cut along the other side of the farm so that 12*8 = 96 m with 4 m space still left.

Hence, we would be able to cut 12*4 = 48 plots of given dimension and an area of 4*100 = 400 sqm will be left.
