The side of a square field is 16 m. What will be the increase in its area, if :
1.each of its sides is increased by 4 m
2. each of its sides is doubled.​

given

side of the square=16 m

now area=16² m²=256 m²

now according to the question if

1) each of its sides is increased by 4 m

then the new side will be=(16+4)m=20 m

therefore area=20²m²=400 m²

therefore increase in area,=(400-256)=144 m²

2) each of its side is doubled

then the new side will be=(16×2)m=32 m

therefore area=32²m²=1024 m²

therefore increase in area,=(1024-256)=768 m²
