The side of a square flower bed is 1m 80 cm long .it is enlarged by digging a strip 20 cm wide all around it.find the area of the enlarged flower bed and also the increase in area of the flower bed

Side of the square flower bed = 1m 80cm
                                                = 180cm
So, side of the strip = 180 + 20 + 20
                                = 220cm
Area of the total flower bed = 220 x 220 
                                            = 48400 square cm
                                            = 484 square metre ( ans )
