the side of a square is 10cm. Find the area between inscribed and circumscribed circles of the square.

Answer:

diagonal = root of 102 + 102


= 10root2 cm


area of circumscribed circle = pi x (10root2/2)


= 3.14 x 100 /2 = 157 cm2


area of inscribed circle = 3.14 x 10 x 10/4 = 314/4 = 78.5 cm2
