the side of a square is 4 cm .the length of a rectangle is 8 cm and width is 2 cm find the perimeter and area if both figures ? in a simple way

area of square will be side square ie 64 and the perimeter will be 16 on adding all sides
area of rectangle will be l*b ie 16 and perimeter will be 20

SQUARE: 
Area        = a^2 
                = 4^2
                = 16 cm^2
Perimeter   = 4a
                   = 4(4)
                   = 16cm
RECTANGLE:
Area      = lw
              =8(2)
              =16 cm^2
Preimeter = 2(l + w)
                 = 2(8+2)
                  = 20 cm
