We know that

Area\ of\ Square= (Side)²

Area\ of\ Square= {5}^{2}

Area\ of\ Square= 25cm ^{2}

  • It is Given area of a rectangle is twice the area of this square

{Area \:  of  \: Rectangle= 2× Area  \: of  \: Square }

{Area \:  of  \: Rectangle= 2× 25 }

{Area \:  of  \: Rectangle= 50cm ^{2}  }

  • Hance the area of Rectangle is 50cm²

Answer:

Area of a square =(side)²

Side = 5 cm

Area =( 5)² =25cm²

If side is doubled then ,

5*2= 10 cm

Area = (10)² = 100 cm²

100/25 = 4

So the area increases by 4 times when the side is doubled.
