Hi friend,

Area of rectangle = Length × Breadth

828 = L × B

L × B = 828.........(1)

And,

Perimeter of rectangle = 2(L + B)

118 = 2(L + B)

L + B = 118/2 => 59

Length + Breadth = 59......(2)

from equation 1 we get,

L × B = 828

L = 828/B.......(3)

Putting the value of L in equation (2)

L + B = 59

828/B + B = 59

828 + B² = 59B

B²-59B+828 = 0

B²-36B-23B+828 = 0

B(B-36) -23(B-36) = 0

(B-36) (B-23) = 0

(B-23) = 0 OR (B-36) = 0

B = 23 OR B = 36

If B = 23

Then ,

L = 828/B = 828/23 = 36 cm

Therefore,

side of the square = 2 × Length = 2 × 36 = 72 cm.

HOPE IT WILL HELP YOU.... :-)
