Given:-

•Side of square tile=10cm

•Length of the wall (l) =2.5 m

•Height or breadth of the wall=2m

•Rate of tiles=Rs.4 per dozen.

To find out:-

•How many tiles can be fixed on a wall =?

•The cost of covering wall of the room=?

Formula required:-

•Area of square=side×side

•Area of a wall which is rectangular =l×b

Solution:-

Area of tiles which 10cm in side=10×10=100cm²

Area of the wall in which {l=2.5m} and {b=2m}=(2.5×2)m²

=5 m² or 500cm²

Now total number of tiles=Area of wall/area of tiles

=500/100=5 tiles

According to question,

Rate of 12 tiles or a dozen =Rs.4

Rate of 1 tiles =Rs.4/12

Rate of 5 tiles =Rs.4/12×5

=Rs. 1.66

NOTE:-We have find solution of only 1 side of wall and is question it is given of find out no. of tiles covering the wall of room.If there were walls then we simply multiply by 4 in the final answer so tiles covers four sides of the wall.
