It is a right angled triangle

Area == 1/2 X base X height = 12 X 16 X 1/2 = 96 cm^2 ANSWER

OR use Heron's formula

Area = \/ s ( s-a) ( s-b) ( s-c)

where s = semi perimeter , a, b, c are sides of triangle

= \/ 24 ( 12) (8) (4) = \/9216 = 96 cm^2 ANSWER
