Given:

A right angled triangle.

One side is 5 cm and the other side is 12 cm

To FInd:

The length of the hypotenuse

Explanation:

Pythagoras Theorem is a theorem that can applied on any right angled triangle to find the unknown length if the other 2 lengths are known.

Solution:

Find the length of the hypotenuse:

a^2 + b^2= c^2

(5)^2 + (12)^2 = c^2

c^2 = 25 + 144

c^2 = 169

c = 13 \text { cm}

Answer: The length of the hypotenuse is 13 cm

Given :-

Length of first side = 5 cm

Second side = 12 cm

R.T.P :-

To find the side of hypotenuse.....

Procedure :-

By pythagerous therom, we get

 {(hypotenuse)}^{2}  =  {(side)}^{2}  +  {(side)}^{2}

let the hypotenuse be x

So , we get

 {x}^{2}  =  {5}^{2}  +  {12}^{2}

 {x}^{2}  = 25 + 144

 {x }^{2}  = 169

x =  \sqrt{169}

so \: x = 13

Therefore , hypotenuse = 13 cm....
