sristichowdhury: You have to find the ratio of the 2 squares' areas. Not the ratio between the sides of the 2 squares.

Answer:

One side of the square pqrs: perimeter/4

=40/4

=10cm

Area of the square pqrs: side ×side

=10×10

=100 cm^2

Side of square abcd: 5cm

Area of the square abcd: side × side

= 5×5

= 25 cm^2

Ratio of the area of square pqrs to square abcd = 100:25

=4:1
