consider side of one square to be a and the other one to be a+4
a^2+(a+4)^2=400
a^2+a^2+8a+16=400
2a^2+8a-384
a^2+8a-192=0(dividing by 2)
by factorizing we will get 2 values 12 and -16 we neglect -16 as lenght cannot be negative therefore the a=12
