If it is doubled than 12cm will become 24cm and its new area will be 24×24=576

Answer:

Area of the sq with side 12cm = 12x12 = 144 sq.cm

Area of the sq with side 24cm =

24x24 = 576 sq.cm

Now, to find how many times the area is increased, we have to divide both the areas.

So, 576/144 = 4.

THE AREA HAS BEEN INCREASED BY 4 TIMES
