The sides of a parallelogram are in the ratio 3:2 and the altitude corresponding to the longer side is 14cm.
If the perimeter of the parallelogram is 60cm, then find the other altitude?

Answer:

let larger side is 3x

then another side is 2x

thus perimeter of a parallelogram is 10x=60

thus x=6cm  

Then one side is =6×3=18

And other is =2×6=12

So base=18cm

area of parallelogram is base × height

area=18×5=90cm

Altitude corresponding to smaller side  

90=12×h

h=7.5cm
