Answer:

LET THE SIDES BE IN X

THEN THE SIDES ARE

1X 2X 3X 4X

PERIMETER = 40

= 1X+2X+3X+4X= 40

X= 40/10 = 4

LENGTH OF EACH SIDE = 4cm ,8cm , 12cm , 16cm

Solution

Given :-

  • The sides of a quadrilateral are in the ratio 1 : 2 : 3 : 4 and it's perimeter is 40 cm.

To Find :-

  • The length of each side.

Step-by-Step-Explaination :-

Let the ratios be 1x, 2x, 3x and 4x

According to the question,

1x + 2x + 3x + 4x = 40

10x = 40

x = 40/10

x = 4

Thus,

The value of x is 4

Now,

1x = 1 × 4 = 4

2x = 2 × 4 = 8

3x = 3 × 4 = 12

4x = 4 × 4 = 16
