the sides of a rectangle AB, BC, CD, AD are 30cm, x-y cm, x+y cm, 14 cm respectively. find the values of x and y.

30=x+y - 1
x-y=14 -2
adding 1&2
x+y=30
x-y=14

2x=44
x=22

substitute x=22 in 1
y=30-x
y=30-22
y=8

so,
eqation1 30= x+y. 14= x-y
14+y=x (put in 1)
30=14+2y
y=8
so,
