let sides be 9x and 7x

perimeter of rectangle = 2( l + b)

144=2( 9x+ 7x)

144/2= 16x

72=16x

so, X =4.5

therefore sides of rectangle be 9× 4.5 =40 .5

and 7×4.5 =31.5
