The length and breadth of the rectangle are 20 cm and 35 cm respectively.

Explanation :-

Given :

Ratio of the sides of rectangle = 4 : 5

Perimeter of the rectangle = 90 cm

To find :

The sides of the rectangle

Solution :

Let the first length of the rectangle be 4x

and the Breadth of the rectangle be 5x

We know that,

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(length + Breadth) unit

=> Perimeter = 90 cm

 =  > 2(4x + 5x) = 90

 =  > 2 (9x) = 90

 =  > 18x = 90

 =  > x =  \dfrac{90}{18}

 =  > x = 5

Hence, the value of x is 5

Therefore,

Length of the rectangle => 4x = 4×5 = 20 cm

Breadth of the rectangle => 5x = 5×5 = 35 cm

Verification :-

Putting the value of x

 =  > 2(4 \times 5 + 5 \times 5) = 90

 =  > 2(20 + 25) = 90

 =  > 2 \times 45 = 90

 =  > 90 = 90

Therefore, L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence, Proved.
