✿Given :-

  • The Sides Of A Rectangle are In The Ratio 5:4
  • Perimeter Is 72 Cm

✿To Find :-

  • Length and bbreadth

✿Solution :-

Since, Ratio Of Length And breadth Is 5:4 Let 5x Is Length and 4x Is Breadth.

Perimeter = 72 = 2(length+ Breadth)

‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎= 2 (5x+4x) = 2 (9x) = 18x

‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎= 18x = 72

‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎‏‏‎ ‎= 72/18 = 4

Then Length= 5x = 5×4 = 20

And Breadth = 4x = 4×4 = 16

Given :-

  • The Length and Breadth of the Rectangle are in ratio 5:4
  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 72cm

 \\

To Find :-

  • Length and Breadth of Rectangle

 \\

Solution :-

⟾ Let the Breadth of Rectangle be 4x

⟾ Let the Length of Rectangle be 5x

According to the Question :

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

➞ 72 = 2 ( 5x + 4x )

➞ 72 / 2 = 5x + 4x

➞ 36 = 5x + 4x

➞ 36 = 9x

➞ 36 / 9 = x

➞ 4 = x

________________

Verification :

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 ( L + B )

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 (5x + 4x)

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 (5 × 4 + 4x)

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 (20 + 4 × 4)

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 (20 + 16)

➞ Perimeter of Rectangle = 2 × 36

➞ 72 = 72

Hence Verified

________________

Therefore :

  • Length = 5x = 5 × 4 = 20cm
  • Breadth= 4x = 4 × 4 = 16cm

Additional Info :

Formulas Related to Rectangle:

  • Perimeter of Rectangle = 2( l + b)
  • Area = Length × Breadth
  • Length = Area / Breadth
  • Breadth = Area / Length
  • Diagonal = √(l)² + (b)²
