Given

Sides of a rectangle are in the ratio 5:4

perimeter of Rectangle is 72cm

To Find

Length of Rectangle

\sf\huge\bold{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}}

Sides are given in the ratio 5:4

Let the sides of Rectangle be 5x & 4x

Perimeter of Rectangle=2(length+breadth)

Perimeter of Rectangle= 2( 5x+4x)

=>72= 2(9x)

=>18x=72

=>x=72/18

=>x= 4

Length of Rectangle = 5x= 5×4=20cm

Breadth of Rectangle= 4x= 4×4=16cm

Check:

Perimeter of Rectangle= 2( 20+16)

Perimeter of Rectangle=2(36)= 72cm

Extra information=>

Perimeter is the total distance occupy by a solid 2D figure around its edge.

Area of Rectangle =length × breadth

Properties of Rectangle:

  • A rectangle is a type of quadrilateral.
  • Opposite sides are parallel & equal
  • Sum of all Interior angles makes 360°
  • Diagonals bisects each other and both diagonals are of same length.
