Let the length of sides of the rectangle be a and b. According to the question ab=1452m2−(i)ab=1452m2−(i) and a:b=4:3a:b=4:3 or ab=43ab=43

or, a=43b−(ii)a=43b−(ii)

Substituting the value of a into (i)

43b2=1452m243b2=1452m2

b2=3∗14524m2b2=3∗14524m2

b2=1089m2b2=1089m2

b=1089−−−−√m=33mb=1089m=33m

Substituting the value of b into (ii),

a=43∗33=44ma=43∗33=44m

So, the side lengths of the field are 33 m and 44 m. Since generally the term length is used for the longer side, the length of the field is 44 m.

This was an easy question!

Here is the solution :

2( 3x + 4x ) = 1452

14x = 1452

x = 13

Length = 52 m

Breadth = 39 m
