The sides of a rhombus are 100 m each and the length of one of its diagonal is 160m. The area of the rhombus is?

Rhombus has 4 sides equal. Diagonal of 160cm divides the rhombus into two congruent triangles .

Area of triangle with sides a,b,c is where S= s=(160+100+100)/2=180)

=s(s−a)(s−b)(s−c)−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−√

=180(180−160)(180−100)(180−100)−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−√

=4800 cm2

∴ area of rhombus=2×(area of triangle) =2(4800) =9600 cm2
