Given :

  • The triangle is right angles triangle .
  • The two sides are 12 cm and 13 cm .

To Find :

  • The area of the triangle

Solution :

We know the Pythagoras triplets ,

13² = 12² + 5²

169 = 144 + 25

169 = 169

Hence , we've found the third side of the triangle .

In a right angled triangle , the longest side is hypotenuse .

Then hypotenuse = 13 cm .

Other two sides are 12 cm and 5 cm .

Area of the triangle = 1/2 × base× height

= 1/2 × 12 × 5

= 6 × 5

= 30 cm²

Hence , the area of the triangle is 30 cm² .

  • A right angled triangle is the one in which one angle is 90° .
  • In this triangle , the side opposite to right angle is called hypotenuse .
  • According to Pythagoras theorem ,
  • Hypotenuse ² = Sum of squares of other two sides
