sides of a ∆ a = 12, b = 16, c = 20

a = a+b+c/2 = 12 + 16 + 20/ 2 = 48/2 = 24cm

By using Heron's formula,

Area of a ∆ = √s( s-a ) ( s-b ) ( s-c )

= √ ( 24-16 ) ( 24-12 ) ( 24-20 )

= √ (12) (8) (4)

= √4*3*4*3*4

= 4*3*2 = 24 sq.cm

hope it helps you.
