Step-by-step explanation:

perimeter=8+15+17=50 cm

area of triangle= √{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}; s=(a+b+c)/2

s=50/2=25cm

√{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)}=√{25(25-8)(25-15)(25-18)}

                          =√{25*17*8*7}

                          =√23800

                          =154.27cm(approx)

area of triangle is also = 1/2*base*corresponding height

                                     154.27= 1/2*17*corresponding height

                                     154.27=8.5*corresponding height

                                     18.14cm(approx)=corresponding height
