SOLUTION

GIVEN

The sides of a triangle are AB , BC , AC whose equations are Respectively y - 2 = 0 , y = 3x - 7 , 2y + x = 0

TO DETERMINE

The two coordinates of points A and B

EVALUATION

Here it is given that the sides of a triangle are AB , BC , AC whose equations are Respectively y - 2 = 0 , y = 3x - 7 , 2y + x = 0

Now the coordinates of the point A is obtained by solving the equation of the line AB and AC

The two equations are y - 2 = 0 & 2y + x = 0

Solving we get x = - 4 , y = 2

So the required coordinates of A is (-4,2)

Again the coordinates of the point B is obtained by solving the equation of the line AB and AlBC

The two equations are y - 2 = 0 & y = 3x

Solving we get x = 2/3 , y = 2

So the required coordinates of B is ( 2/3 , 2)
