The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 1/2 : 1/3 : 1/4 and its perimeter is 104 cm. the length of the longest side is . 72 cm 48 cm 54 cm 64 cm

Let the sides be:
a/2 ; a/3 and a/4 respectively..

Perimeter of the triangle = sum of all the sides..

104 = a/2 + a/3 + a/4
104 = (6a + 4a + 3a) / 12
104 × 12 = 13a
a = (104 ×12) / 13
a = 96

Clearly the longest side is a/2 because of the small denominator.

longest side = 96 / 2 cm
= 48 cm
