The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 3:4:5. If the perimeter of the triangle is 84 cm,then find its sides.

let it be 3x+4x+5x=84

12x=84

x=84/12

x=7

3x=7×3=21

3x=21

4x=4×7=28

4x=28

5x=5×7

5x=35

so the sides of isosceles triangle are

Solution :-

Let the sides of a triangle be x

According to the question,

The sides of a triangle are in the ratio 3:4:5

The first side = 3x

The second side = 4x

The third side = 5x

We, know the perimeter of a triangle is a + b + c.

=> 3x + 4x + 5x = 84

=> 12x = 84

=> x =  \cancel{\dfrac{84}{12}}

=> x = 7

Putting value of x,

  • The first side = 3x = 3 × 7 = 21

  • The second side = 4x = 4×7 = 28

  • The third side = 5x = 5× 7 = 35

Let's Verify :-

3x + 4x + 5x = 84

➝ 21 + 28 + 35 = 84

➝ 84 = 84
