Answer:

The measure of three sides of a triangle are 4 cm, 8 cm, 12 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Sides of a triangle are in the ratio = 1:2:3

               Longest side of a triangle = 12 cm

To find : Lengths of other two sides of a triangle = ?

Solution :

  • It is given that the sides of a triangle are in the ratio = 1:2:3

      Longest side of a triangle = 12 cm

  • Let, the three sides of a triangle be x,2x and 3x.
  • We have to find the other two sides of a triangle.
  • The longest side of a triangle is 3x and whose measure 12 cm is given.
  • ∴  The equation becomes,

         3x=12

       ∴ x=\frac{12}{3}

       ∴ x=4 cm

  • Now, the length of other side is 2x.

        ∴ 2x=2*4=8 cm

        and 3x=12 cm

  • ∴ The measure of three sides of a triangle are 4 cm, 8 cm, 12 cm.
