The sides of a triangular plot are in the ratio of 3:5:7 and its perimeter is 300cm.Find its area.

let the sides be 3x,5x and 7x.

thus,

perimeter=sum of all sides

300=3x+5x+7x

300=15x

300/15=x

20=x

Now,

sides of triangle are 3x=3*20=60

                                  5x=5*20=100

                                  7x=7*20=140

According to heron's formula:

area of a triaangle = \sqrt{(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))}

where s= a+b+c/2

therfore,s=300/2

               =150

putting the values in heron's formula we get:

area of triangle=\sqrt{(150(150-60)(150-100)(150-140)}

                        =\sqrt{150*90*50*10}

                        =\sqrt{50*3*30*3*50*10}

                        =50*30\sqrt{3}

                         =1500\sqrt{3}
