Let , the sides of the rectangle be 4x and 5x respectively.

A/Q,

4x × 5x = 8000

20x² = 8000

= 400

x = 400

x = 20 m.

So, the sides are 4×20 = 80 m and 5 × 20 = 100 m

2 ( 80 + 100) m

Answer:

The perimeter of the rectangle = 360m

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

The sides of a rectangle are in the ratio 4:5

Area of the rectangle = 8000sq.m

To find,

The perimeter of the rectangle

Recall the formula

Area of a rectangle = length × breadth

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2(length +breadth)

Solution:

Since the sides of the rectangle are in the ration 4:5, we have

Length of the rectangle = 4x

The breadth of the rectangle = 5x

Since the area of the rectangle is 8000sq.m we have

length × breadth = 4x×5x = 8000

20x² = 8000

x² = \frac{8000}{20} = 400

x = \sqrt{400} = 20

∴ Length of the rectangle = 4x = 4×20 = 80m

Breadth of the rectangle = 5x = 5×20 = 100m

Hence,

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

= 2(80 +100)

=2×180

= 360m

∴ The perimeter of the rectangle = 360m
