The length of the longest side of the room is 40 m.

• Given,

Ratio of the sides of a room = 3 : 2 : 4

Volume of the room = 24000 m³

• Let the three sides of the room be 3x, 2x, and 4x respectively.

=> The volume of the room = 3x × 2x × 4x

Or, the volume of the room = 24x³

• According to the question,

24x³ = 24000 m³

=> x³ = 24000 m³ / 24

=> x³ = 1000 m³

=> x =  ∛1000 m³

=> x = 10 m

• Putting the value of x in 3x, 2x and 4x, we get,

3x = 3 × 10 m = 30 m

2x = 2 × 10 m = 20 m

4x = 4 × 10 m = 40 m

• Therefore, the length of the longest side of the room = 40 m
