Answer:

shortest side is 72cm

Longest side is 120cm

6 + 8 + 10 = 24

288/24 = 12

longest side = 10 x 12 =120

shortest side = 6 x 12 = 72

AnswEr:-

i) Difference between the longest nd shortest side = 48 cm.

\rule{200}{1}

Given:-

  • Ratio of sides = 6 : 8 : 10
  • Perimeter of triangle = 288 cm

To find:-

  • Difference between longest side & shortest side of triangle.

Solution :-

Let the three sides of triangle be 6y , 8y & 10y respectively.

Now we know,

Perimeter of triangle = Sum of sides

↠ Perimeter = 6y + 8y + 10y

Perimeter = 24y

According to question:-

As,perimeter given = 288 cm

⇒ 24y = 288

⇒ y = 288/24

y = 12

SIDES OF TRIANGLE:-

⇒ One side = 6y = 6(12) = 72 cm

⇒ Second side = 8y = 8(12) = 96 cm

⇒ Third side = 10y = 10(12) = 120 cm

DIFFERENCE :-

Difference = 10y - 6y

↠ Difference = 4y cm

↠ Difference = 4(12) cm

Difference = 48 cm

Therefore,difference between longest & shortest side = 48 cm.
